Each module contains units, which provides an effective approach to learn vocabulary and grammar with communicative tasks, cultural activities, with special attention to the Latin American community as a whole and exercises based on the core areas of Spanish usage. This course is designed to introduce students to the culture of Latin America. The study of the popular culture of various countries will lead to a greater awareness of cultural diversity in Latin America.
As Cabo is a one of the most demanding Mexican tourist destinations hotels are quite expensive being difficult to find a decent room for less than u$s 100 per night. SiC offers you furnished apartments or houses walking distance from the school or near the beach being able to choose from shared rooms with another student to private rooms or even to private apartments or houses. Price depends on location, size and kind of accommodation chosen. No transportation provided from housing to school.
At least twice a month and for a low extra cost we organize field trips with students of various courses to know different aspects of the peninsula and to practice their Spanish. Ask for the next field trip
Activities and Excursions
All different kind of activities are organized by SiC to make students use what they learn in class in a real life situation. Once a week we leave school to go to a different shop or office where the student will have to use the language and we visit downtown. Other activities can be organized for the afternoons or evenings at an extra cost like dancing, movies, tours, water activities and so on. Every weekend at an extra cost we can organize optional tours to different places or cities in the peninsula.
Los Cabos has become one of Mexico's most exclusive beach destinations with luxury resorts and magnificent golf courses.
In the peninsula of Baja California there is a place where the sea and the desert Unite, creating a unique contrasting landscape in the world.
Los Cabos seduces all visitors; San Jose del Cabo is a quiet village with boutiques and restaurants, while Cabo San Lucas is ideal for party and shopping. In this destination you can walk on golden sand and swim in the emerald waters of the Sea of Cortez, which, year after year, thousands of whales arrive to reproduce.
The tourist offer is wide and first class: Great hotels, golf courses and spas await you.
Los Cabos has clear water beaches to relax or practice water sports. Some of them are widows, boat stranded (where is the hull of a fishing vessel), Bahía Santa Maria (for swimming, fishing and diving), Chilean beach (perfect for surfing and windsurfing), the tunnel, Playa Costa Azul (with Palapas, restaurants and surf waves) and Punta Gorda, known for its white rocks with strong swell and bird watching.
Playa del Amor and El Arco is the most iconic site of Baja California Sur; There is a lot of marine fauna here and a photo is required in this spot.
Gray Whale Watching
From January to March, these huge creatures visit Mexican coasts to breed, generating one of the most amazing natural spectacles in the country. The most advisable is to embark on the ports of Lopez Mateos and San Carlos.
Downtown San Jose del Cabo
Here is located the municipal palace, beautiful building built in 1981 that houses the offices of the city Hall. At the side of the main square is the Church of San José, and to a street the handicraft center, where you can purchase Huichol art.
Mission Estero de Las Palmas
Near San Jose del Cabo is this protected natural area (of 50 hectares), which houses varieties of flora and fauna.
Relaxation therapies within the hotel-Spa offer range from massages to pre-hispanic rituals, through hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, Shiatsu and reflexology.
Service providers rent boats and equipment. In the Sea of Cortez inhabit exotic species, such as black marlin and blue, as well as halibut and horse mackerel. The best season is the summer.
In Cabo San Lucas you will be able to drive off road race cars, climb rocks, parachute and feel the excitement about the dunes surrounding the old lighthouse.
Another place for adrenaline lovers is Wild Canyon, a park with eight zip lines that offer magnificent views of canyons, and rides in quadbike or camel.
In Puerto Los Cabos (5 km from the center of San José) is this botanical garden with more than 1.500 varieties of cacti where sculptures of Leonora Carrington and Manuel Felguérez are also exhibited.
Cabo Pulmo National Park
At 66 kilometers northeast of Cabo San Lucas is the only reef area in the Gulf of California. Here converge warm and cold waters, offering a diversity of fauna worth discovering diving or esnóquel. You can also practice canoeing, rowing and kayaking.
